Welcome to the Port Tampa City community website. Each of the tabs listed above have drop-down options with more information on our neighborhood and its activities including our history, businesses, churches, library, schools, events, civic association, contacts, and emergency information.
Located in the southwestern part of the city of Tampa, Port Tampa City is bordered on the south by MacDill Air Force Base, the west by Tampa Bay, east by Manhattan Avenue, and north by the former Everett Street just north of McCoy Street. (Port Tampa Bay and the Port of Tampa [located on the east side of Tampa] are frequently confused with Port Tampa City.)
Community Partnership: The city of Tampa depends on individual civic associations as a point of contact for community issues. Port Tampa City is registered with Tampa’s Community Partnerships* program as the Civic Association of Port Tampa, Inc. (CAPT). Founded in 1993, CAPT is a group of volunteers dedicated to the Port Tampa City community and the concerns of our neighbors. CAPT is a critical link to the protection of our community interests and is dependent upon our volunteers and patrons support in order to remain active.
CAPT meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to attend the neighborhood meetings held at the Port Tampa City Library the 4th Wednesday of the month, January through October, at 6:30 PM.
Residents, business employees, and affiliates of our library, school and churches in Port Tampa City can become voting members for only $12 per person per calendar year. Print out the application on this site and mail along with your check to CAPT, P.O. Box 13631, Tampa FL 33681, or hand deliver your application to an officer at our monthly meeting.
Please navigate through our website tabs and share your comments with us online and at our civic association meetings.
