CIVIC ASSOCIATION MEETING  –   Wednesday, August 23, 6:30 PM, Port Tampa City Library, 4902 W. Commerce Street, 2nd floor Yeats meeting room. Please plan to arrive early as the meeting needs to start promptly at 6:30 PM and end by 7:30 PM.    Discussion topics:  City Council approval of rezoning requested by Lennar Homes for  planned development,  TPD report, and community issues.   All are welcome; if you want to qualify for voting privileges, annual dues are $12.00 per person.

Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library Board Meeting selected the Port Tampa City Library, 4902 W. Commerce Street for their April 27th meeting and responded to suggestions from the public. Book Store  –  Great Bargains!   Fiction, kids’ books, large print books, romance & paranormal romance, paperbacks, children’s picture books & more in the Book Store located on the second floor of the Port Tampa City Library. Proceeds fund programs for children and adults. Library hours: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Wednesdays noon – 8:00 PM, closed Sundays, Mondays and national holidays.

Barnes & Noble @ Barnes & Noble, 213 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. sponsored a bookfair in May to benefit Tampa-Hillsborough Friends of the Library. Barnes & Noble donated a percentage of sales to the Friends of the Port Tampa City Library (FOL) for adult & children’s programs.
