Thursday, April 27, 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library Board Meeting – Port Tampa City Library, 4902 W. Commerce Street.  Open to the public. Beginning of the meeting (4:00 PM) will be open to public comment.  T-HCPL Board advises the Library staff and the Board of County Commissioners regarding planning for new and existing libraries, programs, budget, etc.  For more information: http://www.hcplc.org/hcplc/thpl/board/

Thursday, April 27, 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Port Tampa City Community Center, 4702 W. McCoy Street – City of Tampa Rezoning Petition (RZ-1738).  Rezoning application by Lennar Homes, LLC,  for a planned development of single family homes on approximately 26 acres of vacant property in  the Port Tampa City area identified only as north of MacDill AFB and west of Wall Street.

Saturday, April 29 –  Raising Financially Independent Children and Grandchildren – Learn what conversations to have with children about money and when. Join Lori Nadglowski, a Certified Financial Planner™ professional with Laurel Wealth Management as she discusses age-appropriate milestones related to saving money and planning for the future with children of all ages. Saturday, April 22 – Book Sale:  THANK YOU to all the shoppers, our Friends of the Library volunteers, librarians and bookstore manager for making our Spring Fling Bookstore Sale a HUGE success! Great seeing repeat customers, first-timers to visit the Port Tampa City Library, and former residents making a return visit.

In case you missed it, the Friends of the Library (FOL*) organizations of the three South Tampa libraries  teamed up to offer a giant multi-branch book sale.  Sale included children’s books, picture books, fiction, romance, mystery, classics, hardcovers, paperbacks, magazines, DVDs, CDs, book totes and more.  All proceeds benefit adult and youth programs at each library.  If you missed it, all three of these libraries have a Bookstore that is open for sales during regular hours:

Book Store  –  Great Bargains!   Fiction, kids’ books, large print books, romance & paranormal romance, paperbacks, children’s picture books & more! Proceeds fund children, adult and community programs sponsored by the Port Tampa City Friends of the Library (FOL).  Second floor Book Store, Port Tampa City Library, 4902 W.
