Please plan to arrive early as the meeting needs to start promptly at 6:30 PM and end before the library closes at 8PM. Guest speaker: Commissioner Sandy Murman is scheduled. Discussion topics: Hurricane Irma, TPD report, Neighborhood Watch, and community issues. All are welcome; if you want to qualify for voting privileges, annual dues for calendar year 2017 are $12.00 per person.

Wednesdays, 4:30 – 5:00 PM – Storytime – Stories, action rhymes, songs and interactive activities make up this engaging 30-minute program that highlights early literacy skills, and encourages reading readiness and social interaction. Dates: August 23 and 30, September 6, 13, 20 and 27.
September 20, Wednesday, 6:00 – 7:30 PM – Adults Movie Night: The best movies are based on books….or are they? This event will feature a screening of a film based on a book that will be discussed the following week (Thursday, September 28, 11:00 AM) at the Books and Movies Discussion program. All adults are welcome to attend.
Fourth Saturday, 3:00 – 5:00 PM – Port Tampa City Library Quilters & Crafters – Port Tampa City Library Quilters & Crafters will be meeting every fourth Saturday of the month. Come for a fun and informal meet-up with other crafty people. Bring pieces to work on, share tips and tricks, and enjoy the company of other crafters. All skill levels welcome. Dates: Aug. 26, Sept. 23, Oct. 28, Nov. 25, Dec. 23.
Walk-In Tech Help – 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, 10:30 – 11:30 AM. Drop in any time during this one-hour open lab for quick training in computer basics, tablets, smartphones, e-books, e-readers, and more.

Proceeds fund children, adult and community programs sponsored by the Port Tampa City Friends of the Library (FOL). Second floor Book Store, Port Tampa City Library, 4902 W. In case you missed it, the Friends of the Library (FOL*) organizations of the three South Tampa libraries teamed up to offer a giant multi-branch book sale. Sale included children’s books, picture books, fiction, romance, mystery, classics, hardcovers, paperbacks, magazines, DVDs, CDs, book totes and more. All proceeds benefit adult and youth programs at each library. If you missed it, all three of these libraries have a Bookstore that is open for sales during regular hours:
